This course is essential for people who are required to gas test atmospheres in the course of their employment.
This course prepares learner to undertake the assessment to obtain a Statement of Attainment in MSMWHS217 Gas test atmospheres.
This unit is modelled on the Public Safety unit PUAFIR307A Monitor hazardous atmospheres, but does not have the prerequisites, which are not required in the industrial context. The unit is more focused on the needs of that sector and has some wording changes.

This course provides learner with the skills and knowledge required to gas test atmospheres. This course is designed to meet the requirements from the Manufacturing training package, MSM.
Learner will understand how to identify industry requirements, plan and prepare for gas testing of potential hazardous atmospheric environments. Additionally, learner will be able to test gases and maintain their equipment. Assessment:
The learner will be assessed by demonstrating procedures applicable to this unit. They will also be required to answer a number of oral and written questions regarding their actions and theoretical application of knowledge.
Course Cost is $125 which is required to confirm your enrolment
Learners must have successfully completed a national accredited confined space course in the last 2 years.
Learners must be aged 15 years or older
Photo Identification is required to be sited prior to course commencement.
Language, literacy and numeracy skills required to interpret legislative requirements and to undertake written and practical assessment activities.
