The story of Ambition Training, thus far!

Ambition Training was created in late 2011 by me, Steven Brooke. At the time I was working as an Area Superintendent for a major Asset Management company, working within the Gladstone and Southern Bowen Basin Regions of Central Queensland.

The company whom I was working for at the time was always struggling to obtain enough labour (remember the resource boom?) to fulfil our contractual obligations. One of our biggest problems was ensuring that we could engage enough employees who had their current Confined Space and / or Working at Heights tickets (or put them into courses at short notice).

Around 2011, I decided to make the tough decision and have a career change. After approximately 6 months of being a home dad, which I enjoyed, I decided to take a chance and start my own business. This was something that I had thought about for a long time. Shortly after, Ambition Training was born! (Remember, I had already thought of a problem that I could solve)

We started off slow, just offering Confined Space and Working at Heights training. Not being a Registered Training Organisation (RTO), we were aligned with a couple of other local RTO’s for the first few years. This system worked ok, but I wanted to take the business further! That’s when I decided that Ambition Training needed major adjustment.

On the 12th of October 2015, Ambition Training was granted Registration with the Australian Quality Skills Authority (ASQA) as a private RTO. And since then, we haven’t looked back! From late 2011 we have grown our scope to include some other important Nationally Accredited short course safety programs. In addition to this, we have also introduced our Building Fire Safety Training and Services (This is Non-Accredited).
